Cleaning and Maintenance
- What is the best way to clean my everhome Rigid Core SPC vinyl flooring?
The best way to clean your everhome vinyl flooring is to sweep and vacuum regularly to remove any loose dirt or dust. You can also use a dampened mop with diluted floor cleaner. When cleaning your vinyl flooring, it is important to avoid using vacuums with a beater bar, brushes, or hard floor attachments, as well as any harsh cleaners, chemicals, paste wax, or solvent-based polishes. Any product made for vinyl that does not contain oils, waxes, or polishes should be safe to use. We also recommend a solution of vinegar (1 cup) and hot water (1 gallon) to help to clean your floors.
- What temperatures can everhome Rigid Core SPC vinyl handle?
Temperatures of the room with everhome vinyl should be a minimum of 64°F and maximum relative humidity of 75%. The ideal conditions are between 40-60% humidity.
- Can I move furniture around on everhome Rigid Core SPC vinyl?
While everhome vinyl is engineered to be scratch-resistant, we recommend installing felt pads underneath furniture and putting down rugs in front of doorways to prevent an excess of debris build-up before sliding any larger furniture items around on everhome flooring. Please reference our warranty guide for information on regular wear-and-tear.
- Will my pets claws damage my everhome Rigid Core SPC vinyl flooring?
everhome flooring is incredibly durable thanks to a 20 mil wear layer and added scratch resistance. In general, animal claws will not damage the floors. However, this cannot be guaranteed as different animals have different habits. Keeping their claws trimmed will help avoid any potential damage to your everhome Rigid Core SPC vinyl floors.
Installation
- Can I use glue to install everhome Rigid Core SPC vinyl?
No, glue should not be used to install everhome vinyl. It is designed to be a floating floor, which means that all of its component parts are attached to each other, but none are affixed to the floor below. If you have additional question refer to our installation guides or contact customerservice@everhome.co
- Can I install everhome Rigid Core SPC vinyl outdoors?
No, everhome vinyl should only be installed in an indoor climate-controlled location (between 65° - 85°F) and never outdoors or in a garage.
- How do I know how many boxes of Rigid Core SPC vinyl I will need for my project?
To determine the number of boxes you will need, simply reference our built-in square footage calculator. Select the shade of your choice, and the square footage calculator will be on that product page as you click add-to-cart.
- Is it ok to install everhome Rigid Core SPC vinyl underneath cabinets or other heavy furniture?
We do not recommend installing everyhome vinyl underneath heavy cabinetry or vanities. This would place a large amount of weight on the flooring that could cause separation or buckling. Placing it under fixed objects would also make having to do any maintenance or replacement challenging. Appliances and other furniture can be placed on top of everhome Rigid Core SPC vinyl without an issue. If you have additional questions, please contact customerservice@everhome.co
- Can I install the floor over radiant heating?
No. Electric floor heating cannot be used underneath everhome flooring. Heated flooring can be used, however, the temperature should never exceed 85F.
- Can I install the floor over existing carpet?
No. everhome Rigid Core SPC vinyl should never be installed over existing carpets.
- Do I need an additional underlay when installing everhome flooring?
No. everhome products come pre-attached with an IXPE backer, so an additional underlay is not necessary, and could break the locking system causing the planks to separate.
- What do I do if I am installing over cement?
When installing everhome Rigid Core SPC vinyl over cement, we recommend a 0.15 mm (6 mil) polyethylene vapor barrier be used, and that the vapor barrier be overlapped (3/4 in.) and sealed with moisture-resistant adhesive tape. Please refer to our installation guides for more information.
Product Questions
- Is everhome Rigid Core SPC vinyl sound-proof?
Without knowing the specifications or foundational elements of your home, it would be difficult to state the definitive sound-proof rating of everhome flooring. The amount of noise would depend on subfloor, if you are installing everhome over existing flooring, etc. That said, everhome has a backer that has sound absorption properties that will create a quieter environment in your home.
- Does everhome Rigid Core SPC vinyl flooring contain any chemicals?
everhome vinyl is FloorScore certified and is phthalate-free, meaning it has been tested rigorously and is safe enough to put into children’s playgrounds or hospital environments. If you have further questions regarding the make-up of everhome flooring, please contact our customer service at customerservice@everhome.co.
- How much shade variation can I expect from everhome Rigid Core SPC vinyl?
There are duplicate print images on the planks. We recommend mixing multiple boxes of everhome flooring during install for a more natural appearance.
- Why is the color of the space between the planks of my everhome Rigid Core SPC vinyl different than the plank shade?
The color of the beveled edges is intentionally lighter than the surface of the planks. This makes the individual planks more visible and adds dimension to the floor.
Artificial Grass
Installation:
- Should I weed my lawn before installing everhome artificial grass?
Yes. We recommend removing any weeds, sod, grass, roots, large rocks, etc. from the area you plan on installing the artificial grass on. If you leave organic material underneath the artificial grass, it will decompose, potentially causing a failure of the sub-surface of the everhome product. We recommend installing a geotextile (a soil-stabilizing filter-fabric) to keep native soil from touching the base material. After the geotextile, it is also recommended to add about 3 inches of crushed aggregates (road base and decomposed granite). For more questions regarding installation, please refer to our installation guides.
- Will the artificial grass drain?
Yes. All of everhome’s artificial grass products come with a pre-attached perforated backer. If you install the grass over a rock-base, any liquids that seep through will not pile up, leaving you with fresh, clean grass.
- Where is the best places to install everhome artificial grass?
Everhome artificial grass can be installed almost anywhere, indoor and outdoor. It is safe for balconies, porches, patios, etc. For more questions regarding installation, please refer to our installation guides.
Product and Safety:
- Is it safe if my everhome artificial grass gets frost on it?
Yes. everhome artificial grass is engineered to withstand all weather conditions. Its durable construction means you can leave it installed during the winter. Snow or ice will not damage the grass as it has a perforated backer that allows for moisture drainage.
- Can everhome artificial grass withstand ultra-hot temperatures?
Yes. everhome artificial grass is all-weather rated and up to ISO UVA and UVB standards. Its UV-protected blades will prevent fading if it sits in direct sunlight. Our grass is also ASTM flame retardant. However, it is made of plastics, so please avoid placing fireworks, BBQs, cigarette butts, etc. directly onto the grass as it will cause damage over time.
- Is everhome artificial grass safe for pets and children?
Yes. Everhome artificial grass is made from 100% virgin material and is completely non-toxic. However, the plastic should not under any circumstances be ingested. The grass also has a perforated polyurethane backer with substantial drainage holes to drain water, animal urine, or other messes. Note that if the grass is exposed to animal feces it is vital that you remove the waste and rinse and clean the area thoroughly.
